quinett wien

Hansgeorg Schmeiser (flute), Harald Hörth (oboe), Gerald Pachinger (clarinet),
Martin Bramböck (horn), Maximilian Feyertag (bassoon)

quintett.wien was founded by Hansgeorg Schmeiser in 1994. Today it is one of few woodwind quintets that perform in the Viennese tradition, characterized by a Viennese oboe and horn. Their repertoire embraces far more than composers of the classic: works from all musical epochs from the classical to the contemporary. Besides their engagement in chamber music the musicians hold positions in Austria's leading orchestras and perform as soloists.

During the ten years of their existence, quintett.wien has been a guest at festivals both at home and abroad, performing at styriarte, Klangbogen Wien, the Eggenberger Schlosskonzerte, the Flandern-Festival, Musicora Paris, the North Wales Music Festival, to name only a few, and in concert halls like the Wiener Konzerthaus, Tokyo's Bunka Kaikan and London's Wigmore Hall.
Furthermore it has undertaken successful tours of Japan, Italy, France, Germany, Great Britain, Luxembourg, and Belgium.

Under the name nonett.wien, quintett.wien joins with "Mozartensemble of the Vienna Volksoper" to realize chamber music projects with larger instrumentation, like the septet by Beethoven, the octet by Schubert and the nonett by Spohr.
